Are players required to attend both tryouts?

It is highly recommended that players attend both try-outs so that coaches can

thoroughly evaluate and produce skill-appropriate teams. If a player is not able to attend both try-outs, please e-mail lockdownvbc@gmail.com BEFORE the first try-out. Due to change in date, we are trying to accommodate any conflicts and offer an evaluation opportunity.

Can a player tryout for an older age level?

We ask that all players try out with their grade level. If a player wishes to play "up" we can have a discussion about it before tryouts. Please email us with a request to speak. An exception is advanced middle school players who want to try out with high school freshmen will be allowed without a discussion.

Will all players be selected for a team regardless of skill level?

Because of constraints on facility space and number of coaches, each team is limited to 10-12 players.

Unfortunately, this means that based on skill level and effort, some players may not be selected for a team roster. However Lockdown VBC will offer "practice player" opportunities for those that were close to making the team.
